Final Words for 2007
2007 marked a new era for the Universal Isshin-Ryu Family and the
Pete Mills Karate Schools. After years of everybody doing
their own thing, we have come together and made something great.
Our monthly Family Nights have proven to be a mighty tool in growing
our organization, making better karate-ka and bringing us closer as
a family unit. 2007 also marked the creation of this website.
As time goes along, we will see the creation of a
Universal Isshin-Ryu
Karate Association website. Currently it is only an
entrance page to this website.
To all of those who have attended our gatherings and helped make
2007 a wonderful year, I humbly say Thank You.
Yours in Isshin-Ryu,
Brad Walker, Go Dan

Family Night - December 20, 2007
Unfortunately this was the first Family Night on
Record that we have no pictures from. For our last Family
Night of the Year, we had a great turn out. Not sure if there
is an official count, but it looks as if there were between 30 and
40 people. We had a great evening. What a perfect way to
end the year. |

Family Night - October 25,
2007

Thursday October 25 was the Karns Dojo's turn to host the evening,
and what an evening it was. We were treated to a brief Arnis
demonstration by Sensei's Bowers and Allan, and a bunkai
demonstration of the first moves in Seisan kata by Sensei's Cofer
and Britt. After that the hands and feet started flying.
We had a sparring session that lasted for over an hour and that was
as long as anyone was able to go. After the sparring session,
the treats really started coming. We were all treated to pizza
and soft drinks. Thanks a bunch to all the Karns students and
instructors!!! Click on the

Family Day June 9, 2007
 |
| The Universal Isshin-ryu Family Day is now in the books.
Fantastic! is one way to describe how the day went. Several
comments have been made by those in attendance that it was better
than any seminar they had been to, free or paid for. June 9th
was one of the largest gatherings of Pete Mills related
karate schools that has been held in many years. The day saw
several mile stones reach in the way of rank and certificates.

| Evan Bowers and Mike Allan take a much needed
break after an intense Arnis workout. Evan looks like a true
warrior with his un-shaven appearance and calm demeanor.
